More Adler American Civil War cavalry

Confederate Cavalry
It's not been all 28mm Desert Rats this week, I have also put the finishing touches to a few Adler 6mm American Civil War figures.

I've added another 18 Confederate cavalry and 27 dismounted Union Cavalry skirmishing.

As with the last lot, these are really easy to paint and each group probably only took about an hour and a half spread over a couple of lunch breaks with the bases being done this weekend. These are really lovely figures, a bit on the large size for 6mm but really easy to clean up and they take paint really well. I just spray them black, do a basic base-coat and then a light dry-brush of Vallejo Pale Sand and a wash of Windsor & Newton Peat Brown to bring out the detail. The bases are done in Vallejo Pumice Gel mixed with US Field Drab, highlighted with Vallejo Pale Sand then washed with Sepia wash, I then use PVA glue to stick on Woodland Scenics Light Green Static Grass Flock followed with a quick blast of Testors Dullcote.

Here are a couple more shots:
