Colonel Claude Runciman and Josefina Lacosta

I was suffering with "the Lurgy" this week but had a quick change from 6mm to 28mm.

So I pulled out a couple of figures in the 28mm Napoleonic backlog that I think are perfect for the Lust and Gluttony circles of The Abyss for the Painting Challenge theme.

First up is Colonel Claude Runciman, Wagon-Master General, he is described as an obese, indolent man, who because of his post as wagon-master general, attempts to get Richard Sharpe to refer to him as "General."

This figure was the show figure, I think from a couple of years ago that chum James picked up for me knowing I would be interested.

I think he fits the Gluttony quite well, chowing down on his chicken leg in this sculpt.

The second figure represents Josefina Lacosta, Sharpe coveted her, but is told he'll never be able to afford her, so that fits right in with Lust.

I rather rushed this one and the flesh tones came out pretty terribly, so after posting on the AHPC I redid the skin tones and these are newer images than those on the AHPC blog.

I think many a lustful though was had when Katia Caballero played Josefina in Sharpe's Eagle and then especially when Elizabeth Hurley played her in Sharpe's Enemy back in the early 90's

A couple of themes well fitted.

Prussian reinforcements (5)

I woke up with the lurgy this weekend so the drive to paint with a cough and runny nose was somewhat curtailed, but the Prussian Production Line rolled on to the end*

The last two battalions of infantry, the first one representing a unit of Grenadiers.

All the figures in the post are from Baccus6mm while the bases are all a custom order from Warbases. I had magnet holes in the bases so that the small figures get no additional lift.

The second unit a battalion of reservists.

There were enough Landwehr skirmishers for another four bases, I did a couple of bases in blue coats with light blue facings and a couple in grey coats with red facing.

There were enough six pounders and an howitzer to complete a fifth battery of artillery.

The last few troops are another four artillery limbers.

*This represents the last few Prussians in the backlog, there are a few Landwehr infantry that could be used to add to Brigade command stands but I don't have any commanders to mount with them.

Coming soon, the start of the French to oppose them.
