I've already got more than enough Imperialists for a very large game of Midgard, but I decided that I really wanted to field some Tercios.

So, I purchased a few packs of unshielded spearmen, I figured that for resin prints, if I used pikemen then it would just end in broken resin and tears! I then added a pack each of hand gunners and crossbowmen and finally some skirmishers with swords and pistols. Enough to build three large units of fifty figures* each.

* I would say men, but these exquisite Forest Dragon figures show what a equal opportunities employer the Imperialists are. Some with missing eyes, some with a wooden leg, some with only one arm, some of them are women!

Each tercio has a core of 30 spearmen in five ranks of six, then two crossbow detachments of four each on the rear corners, two detachments of four hand gunners on the front corners, then a screen of four skirmishers out in front.

For Midgard purposes, in their first game I counted them as Warriors (Heavy Infantry with Missiles - Bow) then added the Big and Steadfast traits.

There were enough figures left over to do a couple of characters.

| Heroes with swords and pistols |
To complete this post, I had a palette cleanser of a fourth unit of Gendarmes to add to the force. This clumsy oaf did break off a couple of plumes though.

Already working on more Imperialists and hope to have a bumper update when we get back from vacation in a couple of weeks.
