Another post of some lovely Cromarty Forge terrain, this time a trio of towers, printed for me by chum Steve.
The first is a watchtower that can grace a hill in our Midgard battles, for an idea of size, the based is 50mm diameter.
All the towers are painted in a similar fashion. The stonework is painted VMC Flat Earth, then a few bricks picked out in Neutral Grey, US Tan Earth and Flat Brown. The roof slates are Luftwaffe Uniform with a few picked out in Neutral Grey. The rendering is US Tan Earth.
The whole lot is then washed with AP Strong Tone, then the stonework highlighted with a light drybrush of Iraqi Sand then Pale Sand while the roofs are given a light drybrush of Pale Grey. The moss patches are added using Dirty Down Moss.
Next up is the windmill, pretty much the same method, while the red painted wood is done with Flat Brown highlighted up adding a bit of Iraqi Sand, the canvas sails are US Tan Earth highlighted up adding more Pale Sand.
This is also on a 50mm diameter base.
Last up is the Wizards tower, again the same stonework methods, the deck and dome is VMC Black Grey, then Basalt Grey and a final high-light of Pale Grey. The telescope and lightning conductor is Brass highlighted with a touch of gold. The lenses on the telescope are done using a non-glassy glass cheat starting from Dark Prussian Blue.
The base on this is a little larger given it's footprint.
These make some splendid objective markers and decoration for our games.
